Afternoon!
I’m sorry to sound so boring but how is it the last day of October already??!!!! I swear it was August, I blinked, and now there’s Christmas adverts on the telly.
However, this has got me quite excited for some cosy travel trips coming up. And it made me think that there’s two camps when it comes to this time of year. People who, like me, double down on all things wintery and people who are desperate to escape for a bit of winter sun!
So, in the spirit of keeping things balanced here’s a couple of recommendation for both camps.
For my winter lovers: Visit Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania and wander their Old Town with a cup of thick hot chocolate in hand. Or take the sleeper train from Stockholm up to Abisko to see the Northern Lights!
For my winter sun seekers: If you’re simply after sunshine, Malta has an average of 300 sunny days a year! However, if you’re in search of the heat, Egypt’s Red Sea resort, Hurghada, still hits highs of 24 degrees in December.
